Overview

Option Sorter, developed by Erik Eng, is a Shopify app that helps merchants naturally sort product options, such as sizes, months, and monetary values, to maintain a consistent catalog. I am committed to protecting your privacy and handle data in accordance with Shopify’s App Requirements and applicable privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA. This Privacy Policy explains what data I collect, how I use it, and your rights.

Data Collected

Option Sorter collects and stores only session data necessary for app installations and authentication through Shopify’s OAuth process. This includes session tokens to enable secure access to your Shopify store’s product data (e.g., product options for sorting). I do not collect or store any personal information from merchants or customers, such as names, email addresses, or payment details, nor do I access or store customer personal identifiable information (PII).

How I Use Your Data

Session Data: Temporary session tokens are used to authenticate your Shopify account, allowing Option Sorter to access and modify product options (e.g., sorting “S/L/M” to “S/M/L”) via Shopify’s GraphQL API. This data is not stored beyond the session’s duration and is used solely to provide app functionality.

Product Data: Option Sorter processes product options to scan, sort, and update your store’s catalog. This data remains within your Shopify account and is not stored or retained by the app after processing.

Data Sharing

I will not share, sell, or disclose any data collected by the app to third parties, except as required to comply with Shopify’s platform requirements (e.g., authentication via Shopify’s servers) or applicable legal obligations.

Data Storage & Security

Session data is stored during active use of the app and is deleted when uninstalled. I use Shopify’s secure authentication protocols to protect this data. No other data is stored. I implement industry-standard security measures to prevent unauthorized access, but no method of transmission is 100% secure.

Your Rights

As the app collects no personal data, there are no personal data records to access, modify, or delete under GDPR or CCPA. If you uninstall the app, session data is automatically removed. Compliance with Shopify Requirements

Option Sorter subscribes to mandatory Shopify webhooks to ensure session data is removed upon uninstallation. I use only supported Shopify GraphQL APIs and comply with Shopify’s data protection standards.

I may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in practices or legal requirements. The latest version will be available at https://d2pwrybrn8r9b8.cloudfront.net/privacy, with the effective date updated accordingly.
